The current scenario shows that most road accidents occur due to drunk driving. The limited ability of law enforcement agents undermines any manual effort to address drunk driving. There is therefore a need for an alcohol detection system that can operate without the limitations of space and time. This project presents the design and implementation of alcohol detection with engine lock for cars using ultrasonic sensor and Arduino UNO. The system will continuously monitor the level of alcohol concentration in the alcohol detection sensor and thereby turn off the vehicle's engine if the alcohol concentration is above the threshold. The project provides an effective solution to control accidents caused by drunk driving.
