Home automation is a new trend in the consumer market. There are many home automation systems with different features and amenities. All home automation systems are used to control home appliances using a remote control. The remote control can be a mounted unit or a wireless remote control. Remote controls used to control appliances usually have buttons or touch sensors. In this project, a home automation system that can be controlled by gestures is designed.

The system designed in this project controls four appliances using 15 watt light bulbs for the demonstration. The user can select the appliance to be controlled using the display, which shows a list of appliances in a drag-and-drop manner. The user can scroll through the devices by swiping left or right and turn the device on or off by swiping up or down.
