A smoke detector is a smoke detection device that signals a fire. Smoke detectors are very common in homes, offices, schools and industries. Smoke detectors are very useful devices because the damage caused by fire is catastrophic.
Nowadays, smoke detectors and smoke alarms are very cheap as their use is increasing and the cost of production is decreasing. In this project we will implement a simple smoke detector circuit using simple hardware.
we used a Gas/Smoke sensor to detect smoke. The article is divided into information about the smoke sensor, wiring diagram and operation.
There are two types of smoke detectors. Optical or photoelectric smoke detectors and ionization smoke detectors.
Optical smoke detectors consist of a light source such as an LED and a light detector such as a photocell.
A photocell conducts as long as light hits it. When there is smoke, the light from the source is interrupted and the photocell does not conduct.
Ionization smoke detectors consist of two electrodes and an ionization chamber filled with ions. When there is no smoke, the ions move freely and the electrodes conduct normally.
